1. Clean out your closet. Remove everything from your closet to clean it and its contents a couple of times a year.

2. Wash or dry clean all your clothes. Curtains and upholstery too.
Moths, eggs and larvae can be killed by a hot-water wash cycle or by dry cleaning. See our preparation page for washing instructions.

3. Vacuum the carpet, curtains and closet carpet.

4. Keep your clothes clean.

5. Store your wool items in zip-lock bags or airtight cedar chest.

6. Use cedar. Invest in cedar hangers. Put cedar chips, sticks or blocks in your drawers.

7. Use moth balls. Place moth balls in your closet.

8. Check clothing for moth holes or fraying.

9. Keep dry and moderate temperature.
