THE PLAN
Using the most effective flea control products made, including growth regulators, in conjunction with innovative control procedures, we do the following:
Step 1: We always perform a thorough survey of the property to determine the extent of the infestation, the most likely harborage areas for the fleas, and entry points that could give them access to the interior of the home. *An inventory of your landscape features and plantings is always taken so we know where to look for pest harborage areas. Inside we inspect areas with carpeting, furniture, beds, and around pet bedding among other possible infestation locations.
Step 2: We always treat around window casings, door frames, eaves, foundations and cracks & crevices. We then treat the areas that we know harbor fleas such as areas frequently used by animals as resting areas, under foliage, trees, shrubs, and in shady spots where fleas congregate and animals (pets or wild) may frequent. Indoors, we treat areas of infestation such as carpeting and upholstered furniture.
Step 3: It is important to break the life cycle of the flea in order to gain control. We always perform a second service 2 weeks after the first one, in order to kill any new hatchlings (fleas reproduce about every 10 to 14 days). In cases of severe infestation a third service may be recommended. We also recommend that any pets on the property be on some kind of flea control program.
We know that no matter what the initial plan, without a regularly scheduled maintenance program, reinfestations are a sure thing. Fleas can be carried by our own pets, stray cats and dogs, rodents, opossums, squirrels and all sorts of furry friends that live on or just pass through our properties..
